Presque Isle Downs & Casino Raises $100,000 for Boys & Girls Club of Erie, Pennsylvania

LOUISVILLE, KY., (June 30, 2023) – Churchill Downs Incorporated (“CDI”) announced today that their Erie, Pennsylvania property, Presque Isle Downs & Casino (“Presque Isle”), raised $100,981.91 for the Boys & Girls Club of Erie. All donation funds were raised through the properties Give $5, Get $10 reward program and Donation Stations located throughout the casino.

In February 2022, Presque Isle launched their Give $5, Get $10 program, implementing month-long fundraisers to benefit local non-profit organizations. Players donate $5 in cash to the featured non-profit and receive $10 in free play. At each Donation Station, guests can donate cash, coins, winning tickets, mutuel tickets and table game chips to support the specific beneficiary.

The Boys & Girls Club of Erie approached Presque Isle in late 2022 to participate in their annual Kiss-A-Pig fundraiser. Every year, local community leaders are selected to participate and the individual who raised the most money kisses a pig as the grand finale to their fundraising efforts. Gary Hendricks, VP and General Manager of Presque Isle, eagerly volunteered to be the “pig kisser” should the property raise the most money for the Boys & Girls Club.

The Kiss-A-Pig program was the benefactor for three months of the Give $5, Get $10 program and it paid off in spades. Presque Isle raised the most money out of all eight participants selected for 2023 and Hendricks was given the honor of kissing a pig. All proceeds benefit The Boys & Girls Club of Erie’s mission of building a safe haven for young people to grow, learn and have fun. Enabling each child to achieve their full potential as productive adults and contributing citizens of the Erie community.
