Churchill Downs Incorporated Partners with Maryhurst to Provide Holiday Cheer Through Annual Holiday Gift Drive
LOUISVILLE, KY., (December 14, 2023) – Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI or the Company) corporate office team members celebrated the holiday season by participating in a Holiday Gift Drive through long time charitable partner, Maryhurst. The annual event gives team members the chance to purchase gifts for children currently cared for by the team at Maryhurst. 30 children submitted wish lists of three items ranging from bean bag chairs, video games, makeup kits, sports equipment and scooters. The corporate office team did not disappoint and all 90 gifts were claimed and purchased ensuring that every child received their complete holiday wish list.
“I’m truly inspired by the generosity and love our team members have shown this holiday season,” shared Claire Simms, Sr. Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for CDI. “I can’t think of anyone more deserving than the children being cared for by the wonderful the team at Maryhurst to receive this incredible support.”
CDI’s long-standing partnership with Maryhurst has been in place for nearly ten years, but support of the organization’s incredible work in the state of Kentucky dates back to 1993. The partnership furthers the Company’s charitable giving strategy and commitment to support organizations that enrich a community’s quality of life. CDI has been involved for eight consecutive years in the Holiday Gift Drive and donated over $14,000 in total giving (including all presents, gift cards and cash) to the program since 2016.
