Record-Breaking Number of Donors Participate in Give for Good Louisville

More than $69 million raised for Kentuckiana organizations since 2014

LOUISVILLE, KY., (September 13, 2024) – More generous donors than ever before raised millions of dollars Thursday during the Community Foundation of Louisville’s 11th Give for Good Louisville Campaign across Kentuckiana. As of Friday afternoon, 25,517 donors raised more than $9.5 million for Kentuckiana nonprofits, educational and religious organizations.

“Year after year I am blown away by the support from our community for these local organizations and this year I am reminded yet again why this day is so important,” Ron Gallo, President & CEO of the Community Foundation of Louisville, said. “It’s a testament to the power of our community here in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Thank you to our generous donors, partners and organizations for utilizing this day to give back to those who are changing lives in our community.”

Nearly 600 organizations participated and each received a $150 cash prize thanks to this year’s Premier Prize Partner, the Sam Swope Family. Many of the organizations also accessed hundreds of thousands of additional dollars in cash prizes thanks to prize pool partners including, Churchill Downs, Derby City Gaming, Caesars Foundation of Floyd County, Owsley Brown II Family Foundation, and more.

The “Greatest Two Minutes in Giving” sponsored by Presenting Prize Partner Churchill Downs returned for its third year. Six donors were chosen at random to receive a “Win”, “Place”, or “Show” prize of $20,000, $10,000, or $5,000 to boost their donations during the giving day. Drag Daddy Productions claimed the $20,000 prize and Churchill Downs will present them with a check on September 28 during the fourth race at the track.
