Derby City Gaming Downtown Celebrates Grand Opening with $40,000 in Donations to Norton Healthcare Foundation and The Hope Buss

LOUISVILLE, KY., (December 6, 2023) – Derby City Gaming & Hotel (“DCG Downtown”) celebrated their grand opening with a generous $40,000 donation to Norton Healthcare Foundation and The Hope Buss, reflecting CDI’s commitment to the revitalization of downtown Louisville. Donation funds were proceeds from the soft-opening event earlier in the week.

“Churchill Downs Incorporated (“CDI”) is committed to investing in Louisville, and is thrilled to partner with both Norton Healthcare Foundation and The Hope Buss, two organizations that share our commitment” said Claire Simms, Sr. Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Churchill Downs Incorporated. “The great work that both of these organizations do not only directly benefits the lives of those they serve, but also contributes to making Louisville an exciting, vibrant place to live and work,” said Simms.

Norton Healthcare Foundation raises funds to support initiatives at local Norton Hospitals and helps make a difference for families in and around greater Louisville by providing access to high quality healthcare. Funds raised support the purchase of new equipment, provide programs and education, and fund research spanning Norton Cancer Institute, Norton Heart Care, Norton Neuroscience Institute, Norton Women’s Care and other adult health services.
