Terre Haute Casino Resort Celebrates Grand Opening with $10,000 Donation to St. Benedict’s Soup Kitchen
TERRE HAUTE, IN., (April 5, 2024) – Terre Haute Casino Resort officially opened its doors to the public with a celebratory ribbon cutting and a $10,000 charitable donation to St. Benedict’s Soup Kitchen with proceeds from their Friends & Family event on April 3.
St. Benedict’s Soup Kitchen is a vital source of support for individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in the Terre Haute area for over three decades. Their commitment to serving approximately 130 meals every day, solely run by volunteers, is a testament to their dedication and compassion.
“We are so honored to donate to this honorable organization,” explains Terre Haute Marketing Manager Elaine Brown. “We are so moved by their efforts that we wanted to go a step further with our donation and sponsor the millionth meal they plan to serve at the end of this month. Our funds will help provide the meals that evening.”

About St. Benedict’s Soup Kitchen
St. Benedict Parish Soup Kitchen has served the Terre Haute community for over 43 years, serving hot meals to those in need. On an average day, the kitchen serves between 150-200 meals, run solely by volunteers. The kitchen is in operation Monday through Friday 11:30am-12:30pm at the corner of 9th & Walnut Streets.
